To help the Chilean miners, The government of Chile sought the help of many different countries for equipment. They used Japanese video equipment, and also U.S. and German drilling equipment. But to keep things national, they used a Chilean capsule that was used to rescue the miners from the cave they were trapped in.
U.S. industry's help chile miners escape over 2000 feet of rocks by drilling a pathway for them. The T-13 drill was used in the process to help make a route for the capsule that help bring the chile miners escape certain death. Many diagrams and computer stimulation help strategize a plan to bring up the miners safetly. All would have been lost if we didn't have technology to help us resue these family men.
"With ingenuity and cutting-edge technology, the men have survived for 68 days some 2,050 feet (625 meters) underground fending off hunger, anxiety and illness in a record-setting feat of survival." In Aug 5 they was still caved in the surface 17 days later and the only thing they ever ate was a spoonful of tuna and a half of cookie every 48 hours. They also communicate by drills and withdrew of a note attached say in 'The 33 of us in the shelter are well".
In the discovery of the trapped miners they had a video camera that was taken and dropped to the miners through a bore hole. That had became the men’s lifeline since their discovery last Sunday.

The role technology played in resucing the chilean miners were actually alot of roles. The capsule was one way because they had to use technolody to build it and to rescue the people that were trapped. Another way was by filming it and putting it on the air. Inaddition to that the camera that they sent down in the hole to redord the people down there was also a part of technology.
There was 33 men, Chilean Miners, left stranded more than 2,000ft underground at the copper mine near Copiapo, northern Chile. The country's state oil company in northen Chile used a drill that drills the fastest of the the three and reached the miners in 45 days after it became operational. The drill was nearly 150 feet tall when assembled at the gold and copper mine where the main shaft collapsed. They used the T-13 drill to help them escape.

The role that technology played in the rescue of the Chilean miners was a major role. The first thing that was done was that a hole was drilled into the cavern that the miners were trapped in. When they were done drilling it created a mine shaft. In the beginning engineers used video cameras to see if it was safe to use the mine shaft or encase it with metal. When they found out it was okay to use the escape capsule they used oxygen tanks and communication devices inside the capsule. The capsule has wheels installed on the outside that can take a six foot four person 2,300 feet up the mine shaft.
The role that technology played in the rescue of the Chilean miners was the men quickly established a regular meal schedule including breakfast, lunch, dinner and an afternoon tea.Supported by a 500 watt power line, they installed lights to simulate day and night to diminish the impact of their eventual return to the surface.Physiologists set up obligatory exercise schedules to keep the men fit for their trying passage up the escape shaft, when they may have to hold the same posture for as much as an hour.
In recent weeks, the miners began to help with the drilling process, taking shifts to clear away debris that fell into the tunnel of the mine.
The role that technology played was a great role. They had cameras and T.V's so when each miner came out, they can see each and every one of them. They used a drill to drill a hole in the ground to get them out. And they also used a capsule to help the out of the whole that they were trapped in.

Technology played a major part in the Chilean m iners rescuing process. There were 3 seperate plans that used some type of technology and a camera sent down a half of mile in the earth to bring people the footage of the actual rescue. The first plan used a raised-boring process which is using a drill to create a cavity / space at the mine or create a liaison point between the two cavities. Plan B used a drill called Schramm T130XD whic is a boring tool specializing in percussion drilling. Plan C used a rig that can penetrate to a depth of 2000-3200 meters.
